Sara Ponessa is the General Counsel and Secretary of Livent. Before joining Livent, Sara was the Senior Business Counsel for the FMC Lithium business segment and served as business counsel to FMC’s former Alkali Chemicals and Peroxygens divisions.
Prior to joining FMC, Sara worked as senior counsel for AstraZeneca, Vice President and Risk Management and Compliance Section Manager for Wilmington Trust Company, and as a legal associate with Saul Ewing LLP.
Sara is a former commissioner with the Philadelphia Human Relations Commission, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Philadelphia VIP, which provides volunteer legal services for low-income families.
Sara earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Rutgers University.
